Munsell Notations and Pastel Multi-Brand Color Chart Book

Since receiving the Pastel Multi-Brand Color Chart book I spoke about earlier, I have been cross-checking both Marie’s and my findings.
I was absolutely stunned by the accuracy of the Munsell Notations Marie had obtained with the colour checker and software she used. They were really spot on and in some cases much better than my own eyes.
So I took the time to re-label my pastels and re-arrange them in the various boxes I have to store them in. I opted for the lay-out in the picture for the ease with which I can find what I want to use in a painting. They are not laid out according to the Munsell Notation per se, but close to.
I had them arranged differently before but this lay-out is far easier to use, giving the fact that I certainly do not own every single colour in the Munsell Book in pastel and have to make do at times.
Now with all the pastels in order I can select those colours I want, put them in a separate “working” box and get on with the painting at hand, without having to search for the next best colour.
How easy has this Munsell system made it, and what a great tool both Munsell and Mary’s Pastel book are.
I feel grateful to both of them.
