The portrait of the woman I had scaped back to the initial underpainting and had turned the canvas facing the wall.
The painting of the roses had been on my large easel for some time and was a prime victim for a colour exercise. The more I looked at it as it was the flatter it started to look and it really needed something done to it. So I took some of the premixed tube colours I wish to eliminate from my oils collection and that seemed quiete okay for the job.
There are still some colour misses in the areas, some concerning value, most concerning chroma. That is really pretty hard to control and requires a lot of brush milage.
For the head study I used some of my own Munsell pre-mixes, plus a few additions of colours that were on the palette for the roses.
Still more to do.
Oh, and I do apologize for the shadow on the hair cast by the easel.
