Quick sketch in pencil

While uploading some pictures into my computer last night I took the time to do a quick sketch in pencil on watercolour paper. The model here is from the a painting done by Morgan Weistling on his latest dvd "Painting for the impatient".
I got realy inspired to do more drawings again after reading through Susan Lyon's book "Visions & Voyages" which has a few of her absolutely beautiful drawings.
I realise more and more that in order to create well with paintone has to be able to first of all create well with pencil, charcoal and the like. For realy painting with oil colours is realy drawing with paint.
And I have to admit the more drawings I have under my belt the better they become, the easier it becomes to see the planes, the values, the edges etcetera. I believe once the drawing skills are firmly in place going the next step to colours is so much easier.
I have a long road ahead of me, but I can see improvements with every new drawing which inspires me to go on.
